1 lb orange slices, cut in small pieces
2 cups chopped pecans,
1 cup coconut,
8 oz chopped dates,
1 cup melted butter,
4 eggs,
1 cup buttermilk,
1 ½ cups sugar,
1 tsp salt,
2 cups flour,
1 tsp baking soda,
1 tsp vanilla,
Mix orange slices, pecans, coconut and dates in a large bowl. Pour melted butter over this and mix well. In another bowl, beat eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients separately and add to egg mixture. Fold into orange slice mixture. Pour into a bundt or tube pan and bake at 300 degrees for 1 ½ to 2 hours or until cake is done.
